The Samuel Cupples House ("Cupples House"), on St Louis University's campus, was constructed between 1888 and 1890 by the wealthy entrepreneur for whom the house was named. With its 42 rooms, 22 fireplaces, leaded glass windows and intricately carved woodwork, the building was placed on the National Historic Register in 1976, and is a rare example of Richardsonian Romanesque architecture. Today, it as a museum and art gallery for the University's collection of fine art.
